Some of the most popular treks such as the Poonhil Trek, Mardi Himal Trek, Khopra Danda Trek, and Ghandruk Trek can be started from Pokhara. The most famous Annapurna Circuit Trek can also be started from Pokhara. Besides this, you can also experience the Phewa Circuit Trek which is inside the valley.

Poon Hill Trek – This short and easy trek into the Annapurna Region is ideal for those who do not want to spend more time on trekking but still want to witness the magnificent beauty of the snow-covered mountains. The trek starts from Nayapul which is one and a half hour drive from Pokhara. The trek let you pass by beautiful villages of Ghorepani, Ghandruk, and Ulleri. The highest point of the trek is 3210 meters and is famous for offering the best views of sunrise and the Himalayan Mountains.

Mardi Himal Trek – Go for this trek if you are looking for an ‘off the beaten path’ experience. This lowest and least visited trekking peak will take you to quieter places in the Annapurna Region. While trekking this route, you can see quite many interesting villages, verdant forests, valleys, rivers, and terraced farms. However, the most beautiful view on this trek is that of Annapurna, Machhapuchre (Fishtail), and Hiunchuili mountains.

Khopra Danda Trek – Also known as the Khopra Ridge Trek, this trek is an alternative destination in Annapurna Region. Instead of Poonhil trek, one can select this trek which has less crude on the path but some of the best views.

Ghandruk Trek – This trek is done in 6-7 days and is located in Phedi. On this trail, you will go through thick, beautiful rhododendron forests and paddy fields. You will also pass by the picturesque villages of the lower Annapurna Region, with snow-capped mountains towering you.
